Pennant update

2022/23 Season Starting Dates

Hi Everyone

First it is important to note that the 2022/23 bowls season includes two Victorian Opens  due to change in venue for 2023 onwards. The first pre-Christmas  Vic Open
will be held in November as usual, but there will also be another event in the new time-slot in March-April (24 th March – 2 nd April, 2023).

This means that all Ballarat and Highlands pennant finals will need to be completed by Sunday, 12 thMarch and Tuesday, 14 th March, which is a week earlier than the season just gone. This will allow for the playing area winners to play off for the regional titles on Saturday, 18 th march.

Following the results of the recent survey, the Ballarat playing area will remain at 18 rounds for this
season.

Therefore, the Ballarat Saturday pennant season will commence on Saturday, 1 st October
and Tuesday pennant on Tuesday, 4 th October and will consist of 18 rounds.

This will necessitate the Saturday Semi-finals and the Preliminary Final being played on consecutive days (Saturday, 4 th and
Sunday, 5 th March, and Tuesday pennant Round 18 being played on Thursday, 23 rd February (to fit all rounds in).
