Draws and Results

Note: For 2020 Results may be “fixed” in that a score=2 for winner and Score=1 for loser. It was done this way so you can see the progress of players and due to the fact I had no idea what the final scores were

 Singles Championship

All games are won by the first player to score 25 shots.

There is no limit on the number of ends played

All players play off scratch

Because of the importance of this event, players should ensure that they arrange for a competent marker to be available for all games.

The final will be played in “whites” and is usually marked by the bowls President.

This competition must be completed in time for the winner to be entered in the BDBD Champion of Champions event.

Club Pairs Championship

All games are played over 15 ends.

In the case of a tied game one extra end is played to decide the winners

This competition must be completed in time for the winner to be entered in the BDBD Regional Championship event.

Players should be aware that these games can last up to 2 ½ hours.

Minor Championship

This event cannot be entered by any player who has previously won a Club Singles championship or the Minor championship. It is a scratch event and all games are won by the first player to reach 25 shots.

2 Bowl Championship

This is a scratch event. All games are won by the first player to reach 21 shots. This event is open to all bowling members of the club.

Presidents Handicap

All games are won by the first play to reach a score of 25 shots AFTER playing off their handicap

Tasmanian Handicap. Often called “The 100 up”.

All games are won by the player who is first to score 100 AFTER playing off DOUBLE their handicap. The four bowls nearest the “Cat” at the completion of each end are checked and the “shot bowl” scores 4 points, second shot 3 points, 3rd shot 2 points and 4th shot 1 point (10 points are scored on each end). The marker totals the score and the first player to reach 100 is the winner. All players handicaps must be shown on the score card.

Please ensure that you have arranged for a marker. Note that this game can last a long time.

Mixed Pairs

All games are played over 15 live ends of walking pairs
