2021 Centenary Info

The first meeting of the City Oval Bowling Club was held on 30th July 1921 whilst the first organised match on the Club green was played on 25th March 1922 against Victoria which, unfortunately, we lost 44 to 125.
Our Centenary will therefore be celebrated on 30th July 2021 which leaves us “only” five and a bit years to collate our history, to locate and contact former members and to track down photographs and memorabilia. I have attached a “member profile” form for your completion to assist us in compiling our history. We are seeking some personal information and your contact details together with the details of any former members of whom you are aware. In the interests of privacy you might like to contact these people and ask their consent to you providing me with their details.
Please complete and return the form either by email to me or by placing it in the box on the table. Additional copies of of the form can be found in a folder on the table inside the front door of the clubrooms.
If you have any photographs or any other memorabilia I would also like to hear from you – you can email me or catch me at the Club. Memorabilia might include Annual Reports, newspaper articles, old uniforms, old equipment (such as bowls, carry bags, measures, scorecards etc), pennants and the like.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.
Kind regards
